Oceangate Commerce Center
A promotional center located at the southeast intersection of Rosecrans Avenue and the 405 freeway. It was a redevelopment project consisting of approximately 350,000 square feet of retail space. Groundbreaking occurred in January 1991 and all phases were essentially completed and leased by mid-1993. Home Depot, Toys ‘R Us and Kids ‘R Us opened for business in 1991; Staples, SportMart, Ross Dress for Less, Michael’s and Food 4 Less opened in the first quarter of 1993.
